Electron-positron pair production in the collision of real photon beams with wide energy distributions

Abstract The creation of an electron–positron pair in the collision two real photons, namely linear Breit–Wheeler process, has never been detected directly laboratory since its prediction 1934 despite fundamental importance quantum electrodynamics and high energy astrophysics. In last few years, several experimental setup have proposed to observe this process laboratory, relying either on thermal radiation, Bremsstrahlung, or multiphoton inverse Compton scattering photons sources created by lasers mean a lepton collider coupled with lasers. these propositions, influence photons’ distribution total number produced pairs taken into account analytical model only for cases. We hereafter develop general original, semi-analytical estimate such photon beams, give optimum parameters some configurations. Our results shows that production Bremsstrahlung are, from considerations, already reachable today’s facilities.
